Angel Island Hike | 5.5 miles… Done and done!

Pack 104 hike convened on Sunday, June 13th from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm for a gorgeous hike at Angel Island. Families took the 10am ferry and returned on the 3:20 pm ferry.

The hike itself, Perimeter Trail, covered the perimeter of the island and is approximately 5.5 miles. Various, short, off-trail shoots were explored, including the historic immigration station.

A special thank you to the families who attended and helped plan this event.

Pack 104 Jumpstarts Summer 2021 with a Massive Cleanup at Baxter Creek in El Cerrito!!

On Jun 6, 2021, Pack 104 met up with the Green Teams of El Cerrito and the El Cerrito Trail Trekkers to remove litter from Baxter Creek. The organizers from the city remarked that they had never seen such a huge turnout for one of these events – 41 participants from Pack 104!

With a such a large group, the pack made short work of the trash along the creek/greenway and got quite a bit accomplished on the weeds as well.

Based on our discussions with the city, they would like to partner up with the pack on projects like this at least a few times a year, and for future events they will try to also include some sort of educational component as part of the event!!

This is yet another very successful collaborative event and we’re excited have the opportunity to  contribute and make positive impacts on the environment and the local community.

If you and your family are not currently part of our pack, please consider joining us for the next community project!
