Scouting for Food is an annual food-collection drive, and one of the many service projects the BSA has conducted since 1910.
This year, we had yet another successful event, with superb participation from a large number of the scouts.
Here is an album with a collection of some of the photos taken.
870,000 Bay Area residents and a quarter million residents in our council geography lack adequate access to food. Scouts can help make an impact by participating in the annual Scouting for food drive
The annual effort for Scouting in the Bay Area is coordinated in November.
Help us collect canned goods and other non-perishable food for the needy! We’ll be passing out flyers on Saturday, November 5 and picking up donations the following Saturday, November 12.
Details on when/where to bring the donations that have been collected will be sent out via email to the Pack 104 mailing list as the collection date approaches.

The Lions club (not to be confused with Lion den!) hosted their annual flag planting event at Sunset Cemetery here in El Cerrito.
Coffee and donuts and a short ceremony/history were provided. The scouts then collected flags and fanned out into the cemetery to plant flags on the graves of veterans.
On the morning of Saturday, October 8, 2022, Pack 104 Scouts hiked approximately 3 miles of Segment 21 at the China Camp State Park. The hike was an out-and-back route along the Shoreline Trail.

The Pack 104 Wolves joined Pack 88 in marching in the Veteran’s Day Parade at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco from 10:30 AM to 12 PM on November 6th. We salute all our past and current hero’s. Thank you for your service!
Please see below for a few photos taken that day!
Pack 104 Wolf Den completed a hike at Point Pinole on October 16th. Here are some photos from the hike.
This year, Pack 104 tried something different with the popcorn sales: Table sales at Del Norte BART and Ace Hardware of Pinole. Scouts signed up for hour long shifts. The Popcorn Kernel helped with the table set up and logistics, so the Scouts didn’t need to bring anything except themselves, their popcorn sales pitch, their water bottle, and their Cub Scout enthusiasm.
The sales locations are protected from rain, so we sold rain or shine. Here are a few pics from popcorn sales from mid-October.
Some of the scouts from Pack 104 completed a hike at China Camp this past weekend.
Almost 5 miles! Afterwards, scouts got a history lesson, and a nice treat, surprisingly the store did not overpriced their items! #beautifuldestinations #hikingforfun #scouts
Here are some photos taken during the day. We had so much fun!
For this year’s Pack 104 Fall Campout, on September 23-25, we went to Mount Madonna in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Mt. Madonna is a gorgeous county-run park in Santa Clara County. We have reserved the Huckleberry group camp for the pack. Your whole family (and friends!) are welcome to come join us for three days and two nights of camping, hiking, and of course S’mores.
The park has several lovely eco-zones, including redwoods, oak woodland, and grassy meadows. This gem is a well maintained, 4,605 acre park dominated by the redwood forest characteristic of the Santa Cruz Mountain range. To the east, the park overlooks the Santa Clara Valley, to the west, Monterey Bay.
Several of the AOLs went on a horseback riding adventure at Mount Madonna Stables. The scouts had a fantastic time!
More information on the park can be seen at the county website: https://parks.sccgov.org/santa-clara-county-parks/Mt.Madonna-county-park
and in the park’s brochure: https://parks.sccgov.org/sites/g/files/exjcpb961/files/documents/Mt%20Madonna%20Brochure%20Cover.pdf
