Den 10’s Family Tree

Den 10 wanted to share some photos from their last den meeting. They were working on an elective called “Project Family” and one of the requirements was to complete a family tree.  As an activity to demonstrate a family tree, Jared had the Webelos construct a Pack 104 family tree mobile.  The photos shows the end result.  Quite a tangled mess but better than expected for an on-the-fly project.

Great job Scouts. We collected a lot of toys and made it through the inspection. Those Marines weren’t messing around. Especially when it comes to getting the primo parking spot.

Hey scouts and Akelas,

We found a really cool pop up bike course in El Cerrito. They have woop de do’s,teeter toters, ramps and a banked curve. I’m not sure how long it will be up, so grab a helmet and head over with your mountain or BMX  bike. Get in on the action before the Man takes it down!
The pop up is were the old water tank used to be at Snowdon and Ganges. Here is a link:
PS it’s a residential neighborhood so be cool!

Adding the Pack 104 G-calendar to your Android

2. Add the google calendar “type55.com_racdpg2vjlm5bbi1kk0hmva4t4@group.calendar.google.com” into the “Add a friend’s calendar” box
3. Check that the calendar is showing (Pack 104 Events)
4. Open Calendar on your google phone
5. Open menu, settings
6. under your g-mail id that you just added the calendar to, select “Show more” and select “Pack 104 Events”
7. Select Sync
Configure you Android device to sync to your Google calendar.

1.Go into you device’s Calendar app, in the settings make sure your Google account is checked, then select ‘Sync Now’.

2.You may need to select the Google account calendar, then under “Other calendars” check the subscribed calendars the Android device is to sync with (by default, the “Other calendars” may not be checked).

 

 

Tip of the Hat to James Duerr for sending this to me otherwise I would have let you Android users sweat it out for a while.

 

 

Syncing your scout calendar to your IPhone

I found a great page on how to sync the Pack 104 google calendar to your iphone. It does require that you own an iphone, and you have a google account. Google accounts are free, so go ahead and sign up before you are forced to by our Google Overlords.

Upcoming Activity – Mmmmmmm Crab

Event:       Pack Activity for Pack 104
Description: Pack 104 Fishing and Crabbing Outing
Location:    Fort Baker – Moore Rd Pier Moore Rd Sausalito, CA 94965
When:     Saturday, August 1, 2015.
Additional information:  DIRECTIONS: Take Alexander Avenue off of Highway 101. It is the last exit before driving onto the Golden Gate Bridge going south, and the first exit after the vista point going north. Take Alexander Drive down the hill till you see Danes Drive and then, just before the tunnel, turn right onto Bunker Road and follow it down to the pier.
WHAT TO BRING: This can be a foggy area. Old records reported that the fog horn at nearby Point Bonito operated an average of 858 hours a year. So, bring some warm clothing just in case the fog does decide to settle in. There are NO facilities out there aside from portable bathrooms. So any snacks lunches or drinks (no running water) should be brought. There are no stores for a few miles aside from the cafe inside the Bay Area Discovery Museum, which you would probably have to pay the admission fee for. There are no benches so bringing chairs is a must.
If any one wants to bring fishing poles, we have seen people catch sturgeon, rockfish, herring, jacksmelt, halibut, and shark.
A couple of Crab nets will be provided, all the bait we will need, and a bucket and ice chest we use only for crabbing.
NO FISHING LICENCE IS REQUIRED ON A PUBLIC PIER FOR ANY ONE!!!
Bringing a five gallon bucket if you have one, or some other sort of vessel might be a good idea in case we catch a lot of crab. There are those who have caught as many as 36 in two hours, but we have also come home empty handed many times. Its fishing…
Life vests are suggested, The railing at the Fort Baker Pier is minimal and the water is cold and swift near the golden gate.
Bring a camera. The view is spectacular. We often see big boats coming in and out of the bay, and if it is clear there is a great view of San Francisco.
